Waterproof Speaker Solutions by XDEC
With over a decade of speaker manufacturing expertise, XDEC has prioritized waterproofing R&D to meet diverse application demands (outdoor audio, Bluetooth speakers, automotive speakers, etc.). Our waterproof designs are categorized as follows:
I. Structural Waterproofing (Basic)
Diaphragm Waterproofing (Most Common)
Materials: Waterproof paper, PP + hydrophobic coating, PET, TPU, PEI, etc.
Protection level: Resists splashes or brief immersion.
Voice Coil Waterproofing
Coating voice coils and formers with waterproof resin or conformal coating (e.g., PCB-grade moisture-proof paint) to prevent short circuits or corrosion.
Adhesive Sealing
High-performance waterproof adhesives (epoxy/silicone) for sealing diaphragm edges, spiders, and magnetic gaps.
Surround/Spider Waterproofing
Waterproof cloth surrounds, rubber edges, or hydrophobic sprays.
Spider reinforcement with waterproof resin.
II. Enclosure/Isolation Waterproofing (Intermediate-Advanced)
Waterproof Grille Design
Hydrophobic mesh (e.g., GORE-TEX) covers the front to block water while maintaining acoustic transparency.
Common in Bluetooth speakers and smartphone micro-speakers.
Fully Sealed Enclosures
Speakers housed in airtight cavities with gasket-sealed terminals or screw-locked ports.
Applications: Marine audio, outdoor PA systems, waterproof broadcast speakers.
III. Coating/Nano-Waterproofing (Innovative Solutions)
Nanoscale Hydrophobic Coatings
Technologies like P2i or HZO create superhydrophobic layers on speaker surfaces.
Pros: No added bulk/weight; ideal for compact devices (e.g., TWS earbuds).
Cons: Limited to IPX4-IPX5 (splash resistance).
Full-Assembly Moisture Barrier
Pre-assembly waterproof film spraying enhances humidity resistance for all components.
