We can help you design your sound project faster. XDEC Speaker has been designing small speakers for years. We have rich experience in designing box speakers for sound projects. As long as you provide us with the structure into which your project can fit and the sound you need, we will bring these box speakers to life. We know what sound you need, what size, and what products. Then we will start the design process. Don't worry; our designed box speakers will be processed well.
Product Features:
1. This 8R 2W box speaker has built-in 2040 speaker.
2. We carefully designed the ABS shell and speaker driver for the speaker.
3. The sound of the speaker is full-frequency, sweet, clear and loud. Help the client pre-do the speaker and housing job first.
4. Customers only need to check whether the speaker enclosure fits your structure. It is good at playing full-range music and vocals, and is suitable for a variety of speaker products.
Mainly Used For:
Car navigation systems, emergency phones, intercom stations, smart speakers, and so on. We at XDEC design box speakers for clients, helping them save time and costs in researching speakers and speaker cases. We have already completed the speaker and case for the client; they only need to find a suitable amplifier board and structure, and then the speaker can be used. We also offer OEM and ODM services for speakers and cases, so we can assist you with design if needed.
Advantages of Small Advertising Speakers
Sound Purity:
Small advertising speakers typically feature a 4-7" woofer and a 1" tweeter, accompanied by a straightforward crossover design. This simplicity results in shorter signal paths and uncomplicated crossovers, enhancing signal transfer and delivering clearer, more realistic sound.
Imaging:
Due to their small front baffles, small speakers allow the woofer and tweeter to emit sound directly into free space, minimizing reflections and diffusions that can distort sound quality. This unobstructed sound radiation improves dispersion, enabling these compact speakers to effectively fill a room with sound.
Clarity:
Assuming quality drivers are utilized, the primary obstacle to achieving high-quality sound in speakers is cabinet resonances. Herein lies the advantage of small speakers. Unlike larger floorstanding speakers with sizable enclosure panels prone to vibration, small speakers have minimal undamped panel space, reducing the potential for cabinet resonances. Consequently, the sound produced is purer and more realistic.
Basic Speaker Parts
The Driver:
Also known as the sound driver, the driver is the primary component of a loudspeaker system. It converts line level voltage from the speaker amplifier into sound by generating waves that push and pull air molecules, producing the sound perceived by the human ear. Drivers can be constructed from various materials such as reinforced paper cones, metal dome diaphragms, or carbon fiber elements, all housed within a metal coil.
The Enclosure:
Constructed from materials like wood, plastic, the enclosure serves as the housing or cavity where the driver is mounted. Enclosures may accommodate a single driver or multiple drivers.
The Diaphragm:
This component converts mechanical motion into sound waves.
The Cone:
Attached to the voice coil, the cone is a diaphragm designed to maximize air movement when the voice coil is in motion. Cones can be made from materials such as paper, carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium, phenolic, magnesium, granite, fiberglass, ceramic, or Kevlar.
The Voice Coil:
Comprised of copper wire, the voice coil functions as an electromagnet that propels the cone by reacting to the magnetic field generated by the current passing through it. Voice coils are wound around forms made of aluminum, Nomex, Kapton, or other materials, using either flat or round wound wire. They are available in nominal impedances of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 16, or 32 ohms.
The Dust Cap:
This diaphragm covers the opening of the voice coil and other internal parts of the speaker, protecting them from dust and debris. Dust caps can be constructed from materials such as paper, aluminum, felt, rubber, screen, or polypropylene.
The Spider:
Composed of treated paper coated with adhesive glue, the spider is positioned internally within the speaker. Its primary function is to maintain proper alignment of the voice coil and ensure that the speaker returns to its neutral position between vibrations, acting as a safety mechanism to keep internal parts in place.
The Surround:
This component, made from materials like poly-foam, foam, butyl, accordion, or a single cloth or "m" roll cloth ring, holds the cone and the basket together. It serves as a suspension system, working in harmony with the spider to restore the cone to its neutral position between vibrations.
The Gasket:
Constructed from materials such as foam, rubber, or chipboard, the gasket minimizes vibration between the driver and the enclosure.
Enclosure Types for 5W Small Box Speakers
Sealed Speaker Enclosure:
A sealed speaker enclosure controls the movement of the speaker's cone at low frequencies by acting as an air spring inside the enclosure. This assists in tuning the low frequency of the driver, necessitating airtight construction to prevent air leaks.
Ported Speaker Enclosure:
In a ported speaker enclosure, a ported tube is added to the enclosure, serving as a mass that enables lower tuning in a smaller enclosure compared to a sealed box. Ported enclosures may require greater depth than sealed boxes to accommodate the port length. However, adjusting the length and diameter of the port allows designers to "tune" the box to different resonant frequencies based on the specific application.
Passive Radiator Enclosure:
Operating similarly to a ported enclosure, a passive radiator enclosure utilizes a passive radiator instead of a port. This design may allow for a more compact box compared to one requiring a long port. Because passive radiators can achieve similar resonance as ported boxes while occupying less space, they are well-suited for shallow home audio and car audio applications.
