Usually, multimedia speakers are designed with dual unit dual frequency division, with one smaller speaker responsible for the output of mid to high frequencies and another larger speaker responsible for the output of mid to low frequencies.
The selection of speakers should consider the materials of these two speakers: the high pitched unit of multimedia active speakers is mainly soft dome (in addition to titanium film dome used for analog sound sources), which, when combined with digital sound sources, can reduce the icy feeling of high-frequency signals, giving people a feeling of coldness, delicacy, and ethereal. Multimedia speakers are mostly made of high-quality silk film and low-cost PV film with soft dome tops.
The bass unit determines the characteristics of the sound of the speaker, and it is relatively important to choose it. The most common types are as follows: paper basin, adhesive paper basin, paper based wool basin, tight pressing basin, etc. The paper cone has a natural, inexpensive sound, good rigidity, and a lightweight material with high sensitivity. However, its disadvantages include poor moisture resistance and difficulty in controlling consistency during manufacturing. However, it is common to use paper cones in top-level HiFi systems because the sound output is very average and the restoration is good.
